When my friends Spencer and Alex got engaged back in February, I couldn't have been any happier for them. Spencer and I have been great friends for over a year, and not only did I shoot their engagement pictures back in may (view it here) but I actually helped him plan his proposal and lived in the same house for a couple months leading up to his wedding. Over the summer months as you can guess, our friendship strengthened and became something I never would have guessed a year ago. Seeing him with Alex makes me ecstatic because the two just couldn't be more perfect for each other, in fact I don't think I've actually seen them without smiles when they are together.
Their wedding took place in San Diego, just south of La Jolla. It is here that myself and videographer Matt Brue from Capture Studios also did the day after shoot. Because I was apart of the wedding, I only shot a few moments of the actual day, which I hope to post eventually. Until then, enjoy these images from our afternoon along the Pacific Coast, and don't forget to check out Matt Brue's incredible video work.
One last thing, I've been shooting a ton of instant film lately, and shot through three packs while in San Diego. Here is a set from the day after, and one from Spencer and Alex's first meeting (you can see the actual scene in the video)

Clara is one of my younger sisters and is already almost taller than me. I might be on the shorter side, I'm still way more cool than her...maybe. She got her braces off a few weeks ago, so she was pretty stoked to show her pearly whites.

My trip to San Diego for Spencer and Alex's Wedding was awesome. I've already edited through much of our day after shoot, which I shot together with my friend and videographer Matt Brue. We shot around Mission Beach and the La Jolla area and it was very new experience since it was my first time actually shooting simultaneously with another creative. It was a blast and a great learning experience, and I highly recommend doing it as it will push your creative directing abilities and help you understand how to shoot better.
The images above are from The Salk Institute, one of my favorite buildings designed by one of my favorite architects, Louis Kahn. The institute always ranks at the top for research in the US in the Biological Sciences every year, especially in neuroscience and gentics.Although it was closed to the public on the weekend, I was still able to walk around and through some of the better parts of the site. I highly recommend (especially if you're an architecture buff like me) search the internet for more images and articles on the building. Here is the Salk's official site, which talks about the importance of the building and it's function.
