Steven and Kara have been great friends of mine for a couple years, from the days when they were both in a band together called Linden (see a shoot we did here). I've had the opportunity to watch them grow together for a couple years now, and when Steven called to tell me he was going to propose last December, I was ecstatic. The joy that they share together is incredibly contagious and manifested itself in the photos we took together a few weeks ago.

Congratulations you two, I'm so happy for you!

Last week I was in New York for a few days for a couple of great meetings and other exciting things that I can't talk about yet...but I will soon! My friend Taylor Pemberton, who masterminded Cavalier Essentials and other amazing projects, joined me for the fun.

Here's a visual recap of the trip, enjoy!

Adam is a music and portrait photographer from San Diego. While he had me out in San Diego shooting the lookbook for his popular brand Lens Bracelets, he asked me to shoot some portraits of him as well in our freetime. Make sure to check his bracelets  out, such a cool idea and especially based on it's success, I'm sure your photographer friends or family member will love one.

Also, his photoblog is entertaining to follow, especially if you enjoy seeing behind the scenes for popular bands and want to tag along with his travels: http://adamelmakias.com/

Nice images.
I got lucky to met Adam when he was touring Europe, we had time to catch up, talk a bit and have a beer.

It may sounds funny but that single fact is the main reason why I started photography at the first place and why I never stopped since. Meeting people. Sharing.

Oh, and of course I got lucky to meet you, Collin. Again, in Brussels.
This inspires me. And I mean, really.

Crossroads.

In honor of her move to NYC today, here's a session I shot with my friend Vicky in Paris last August.

When I was traveling through Europe last year with my friend Nick (see this post), we stopped in Paris for a few days. Through a few good friends from Brussels I got to meet Victoria and was able to shoot with her around her neighborhood and in her apartment in north east Paris. Vicky is a super sweet girl and helped Nick and I around the city for the few short days we were there. She was gracious enough to even feed us breakfast before I shot with her early in the morning!

Joe and Alli are mathematicians. And not just any regular ole math geeks who know everything there is to know about calculus. They are the certain type that do this type of theoretical mathematics - but in a practical application. Pretty awesome stuff, and way over my head. Either way it's incredibly cool hearing what they're doing with their work, and made for some good discussion over dinner. We spent some time the night before getting to know each other better, and I had a great time seeing them both interact. Very genuine personalities with a unique outlook on life and each other, something that is a joy for me as a photographer to witness.

We shot around for an afternoon in the West Village and Upper West Side where they have spent much of their time together over the past few years, including near Columbia University, which is where they met and studied.

Definitely looking forward to their wedding day in August, I'm sure I'll be surrounded by some pretty intelligent people...hopefully it might rub off...we'll see!
