A week ago I got home from a rockin trip to NYC. Not only was it my first time visiting, but I got to meet a ton of sweet people and try some amazing food. While I was there I did get a chance to shoot a couple times, including this dude you'll see here. Nathan is a portrait photographer and actor whose studio is located super close to Times Square and Central Park. I had an awesome time meeting and getting to know about him (considering we're from the same area in Minnesota).

Another short shoot and awesome meetup, and so refreshing to shoot in another city! I'll be posting more from this trip in the coming weeks.

With the harsh winter season upon us here in Minnesota, I was blessed enough to have a beautiful day to shoot these two. This house on a lake proved to be an awesome getaway, and both Matt and Emily were fun to work with.

Gene and Jill; Engagement at the Apple Orchard

Gene and Jill are two super great people, and I've known the both of them for quite some time. Even though they've been engaged since April we decided to patiently wait for fall just so we could shoot in prime time fall conditions at a favorite apple orchard of mine. Both Gene and Jill helped me in planning our photo outing, which I am most thankful for.

Gene is a fellow wedding photographer, you can see some of his killer work here. I'm looking forward to shooting these two again and their sweet wedding in June.

Let me introduce you to a good friend of mine, Taylor Pemberton. I honestly can't say enough about how cool the kid is, even though I've only started to get to know him personally over the past month. Even though he's young, I admire his drive, genuine attitude, and mature thought process about the work and ideas he generates. He has finally launched his new blog and website, something that I've seen come together over the course of the past few weeks (even though he's been working on it longer) and I'm pumped to say you can view it here: ROYALT

Here's an excerpt on what he and RoyalT are all about:

"Royal T is a multi-disciplinary design outlet founded by Taylor C. Pemberton. Since 2005, Royal T has catered to several corporations, individuals, friends, and fellow artists over a variety of creative subsidiaries. Current specialization includes: branding & identity, typography, print, illustration, photography, multimedia, web, and more. Within our select creative network, Royal T has the ability to collaborate with a variety of talent to accompany any client request."

Taylor and I did this shoot a only about a week ago, hoping to squeeze something in with the short time he's been home doing work for renowned design agency Space150 and his ventures west before the holidays. The pictures are really just to show him in his element, being the cool dude that he is.

So don't forget to check out his work, maybe even tell him what you think!  ROYALT

As for me, I'm working on creating a separate private gallery for certain projects I've worked on over the past few months, including personal ones (and possibly some of the architectural models I've been making for my undergrad). It will be great to link these galleries with my blog in order to give people an good way to see posts without having to scroll through pages or search a ton.

Christmas is on it's way, I'm super pumped to get some time away from work and architecture studio to spend time with my family and friends, not to mention my awesome girlfriend. It will also give me a chance to post some more things which are way overdue.

I hope everyone's holidays are shaping up to be awesome!
