The Cavalier Project is officially here. When my good friend and amazing designer/thinker Taylor Pemberton approached me and told me about this big idea for a school project he had a few months ago, we instantly began to brainstorm and talk about the possibility of pushing it further in hopes of creating an identity out of the Cavalier name. As the products and branding began to take shape, the type of images I wanted to create started to become more real in my head and as soon as the project was finished, I flew down to Savannah for a few days in the first week of January to shoot.

"Cavalier Essentials is a line of vintage products designed for the rugged, yet sophisticated gentleman. Cavalier was always briefly explained as-"If Steve McQueen carried a beat-up leather duffle bag on the back of his motorcycle; what would be in it and how would the products look?" This simple idea married an appreciation for lifestyle design and vintage accessories. All of the products possess a hand-made quality while responding to the modern influences of today's culture."

The first day was full of location scouting and meeting with everyone who would be apart of the project. You'll see some of the BTS shots and location scouting we did in the previous Cavalier post, also, keep an eye on my Tumblr for shots from the project. Taylor did a phenomenal job in producing the shoot and lining up stylists and models, so it's no wonder things turned out so well. Scheduling was extremely difficult considering everyone involved is a student. Shooting efficiently was key in getting all of our shots done. We had a lot of work to do in the four days I was there, but it was a blast working with a great team on such a unique project. Playing Co-Director was not a foreign concept to me, but on a tight schedule it was an incredible test of patience, time management, and creative production. In the weeks that followed Taylor and I were constantly analyzing and eliminating all of the photos I shot. Needless to say, we owe a lot of thanks to Dropbox, Flow, and iChat for making it so easy to communicate and collaborate. Without those tools, this project would not have been finished as fast as it was.
